3.5 Month Update

He is growing up so fast! I really can't believe how much can happen in less than 4 months. Alec is now talking up a storm. He is very interactive and responds to our goofy new parent goading. He seems to have a little quirky personality. He often puts his thumb between his first and second finger like when an adult pretends to steal a child's nose. He makes lots of interesting sounds as he experiments with his voice and seems to enjoy having "conversations" with us. This last week his Grandma Kathy (my mom) stated caring for him during the day. Lindsay is working 4 day weeks with Fridays off. He will receive much love and care from my mom but it is still hard to leave him.

    Grandma Dotty thinks that you're awfully cute, Alec! What a big boy you are now -- and so expressive. I loved hearing you coo and "chat" while talking to your mom on the phone this morning (5/20/07).

    Alec,
    You're quite a party boy! Maybe next year you'll get more out of those cupcakes. You're definitely a "hat man." Love that little blue hat on you - accentuates your famous blue eyes. So you've learned the hokey pokey already! Definitely advanced coordination. Glad you're out there supervising your dad's painting, winemaking and other projects. You wouldn't want him to goof off or do things the wrong way. Good for you. He'll thank you for your guidance in years to come. Guess what....I will be able to see you June 25!!! It's much too far away. I'm sure excited. Can't wait to see the chunky cheeks I've heard about. You're coming up on 4 months, big boy. And you sure have a pretty mom. Did you know that she has a terrific sense of humor? And that she was a Homecoming Princess in her senior year of high school? Your dad's a very handsome fellow and so smart on computers.
    What do you think of Frisky and Tikka now? I hear that sometimes you are called "little cat." Pretty soon you'll learn to "meow" and make other animals sounds.

    I loved watching you giggle, Alec. You're so expressive! You're really making eye contact and communicating lots. Did you ever find out whose nose that was you were hiding in your "fist"?
    I laughed until tears were running down my face watching you. What fun.
